Yep- I’m sold on using plastic landscape fabric for making light work of weeding the pineapples. Commercial growers got this one right.
The landscape fabric has made for a much more pleasant growing experience for me. The pineapples require minimal attention, aside from an occasional dose of my farm made, organic liquid fertilizer.
It takes 18 months to 3 years😳 for pineapple plants to fruit (think about that the next time you get ready to waste pineapple😖). October makes a year since mine were planted, so I’ll soon be on the lookout for fruit👀

Note to self:
Plant pineapples even further apart next year ‘cause this variety gets massive & it’s impossible to weed without tearing up my legs on the spiky leaves😖
Can’t win ‘em all🤷🏾♀️ Every cut will be worth it if I get to enjoy a few sweet fruits😋
