As Summer wanes, I’m appreciating that I was able to achieve my primary goal for the season: mow less.
By giving the clover freedom to grow, not only has this meant less labor for me, but the bees have been loving all of the pollen-laden flowers. Hopefully next season I will reap the rewards of allowing the nitrogen-fixing plants to do their business all Summer. Any soil not in production this season has been densely covered by the creeping clover— protecting the soil from the sun & improving its constitution.
