My Favorite Farm Tool That You Wouldn’t Expect

I’m an essentialist, so I certainly wouldn’t say that I have a lot of hand tools on the farm. I have the tools that I would consider essential, i.e. a shovel, hoe, rake, etc. Space is at a premium so every tool must earn their spot.

One of my favorite tools that I consider indispensable wouldn’t be considered by most to even be a farm tool. It took some trial and error to find just the right tool to seamlessly remove seedlings from the seed trays, but the irritation of fumbling or destroying the delicate little plants during transplant spurred me on in my experimentation.

Hands down the BEST tool for removing seedlings from a seed tray is a flat handled spoon🤯. The handle is used to pop the seedlings from the tray in an intact block while the spoon can be used as a small shovel to prepare the soil.
