Now that it’s officially hot HOT🥵, farming has become an exercise of surrender.
My work days are necessarily shorter due to the unsafe outdoor heat. This requires I accept that some things just aren’t going to get done. Not today. Not this week. Maybe not even this Summer🤷🏾♀️
I have two choices.
Choice #1: I can resist my reality & suffer- either physically by “pushing through” & working more or suffer psychically by torturing myself; fretting about all that isn’t getting accomplished.
Choice #2: I can accept my reality & release the self-inflicted pressure of performing/achieving.
I’ve opted for choice #2 & have challenged myself to apply this to more than farming.
My Summer mantra has become the words of Lao Tzu: “Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.”

One response to “Hot Take”
🙋🏾♀️Choice #2 (most days😝)
