What most Floridians take for granted hanging from the trees all around us, I recognize as a gift.

The ubiquitous Spanish moss is my go-to medium for rooting new air layers.

They would have you believe that “special” moss must be purchased for air layering, but my life tenets demand use of the renewable resources that have been provided in my area (ideally at low or no cost).

As I harvest the moss to soak & begin yet another fruit tree propagation, in addition to giving thanks, I often ask myself: What resources might I be taking for granted? How might I use what I already have access to to solve another problem?
The resounding message in the milieu is that of lack. Not enough time. Not enough money. Not enough {insert your choice noun}.
I acknowledge there are challenges- many, in fact, & daily😮💨- but I choose to identify these “challenges” as opportunities for expansion.
I reject the perpetuation of lack. This energy has no creativity or life force. There is a solution for every problem, even if you haven’t figured it out yet.
Look around you.
Look up.
There is abundance on offer.
